YEMEN: THE FLOWERS GONE
Published by The Talking of the Soul, June 26, 2016 I am finding out many of my neighbours have become ‘martyrs’. All the young ones. The happy ones. The ones who wanted to travel, get engaged. The ones working in the family corner shop, the taxi drivers, the students, the ones who helped me when I had the accident and maybe the ones involved in it; the ones who had no plans at all but did make a choice to go and fight. ‘It’s our duty’ they always tell me while I feel my duty is to protect them. At the end, we gave them this world, the fertile ground of wars included. They started leaving on small buses in April 2015 (the war started on March 26 of the same year) from the Old City of Sanaá full of hopes. With a Kalashnikov and a small copy of the Holy Quran in hand. They are heading north, They are going South my neighbours would tell me. Don’t worry, Dear, Allah is with them. They died in Mareb, Bab el Mandab, at the border, in places you have rarely heard of. The flowers are all gone. They continue dying. I hate social media. I hate WhatsApp messages in the middle of the night. I could say it politely ‘Down with wars’. I won’t. FUCK WARS https://thetalkingofthesoul.wordpress.com | Somewhere in Africa |
SYMBOLISM...
an obsession that brings this World nothing but false authoritarianism and preconditioned mindset.
an obsession that brings this World nothing but false authoritarianism and preconditioned mindset.
Symbolism is everywhere, eye catching icons or avatars substituting written language. The obsession with symbols has gone so far as if taking a 180 degree turn back to ancient hieroglyphics. One thing about symbols is that they are multi lingual which comes in handy if you want to propagate the notion of religions of all kinds living in peace with each other - which is not going to happen while religion runs people's lives. Religion never was about truth, fantasy yes, realistic truth, never. Symbols are a commercial sales tool. Whatever you want to sell be it a household item, a product of any kind, a home loan, a political agenda, a religion or a war, you need a symbol of some kind. Symbols, religious symbols especially, are now so popular, that people occupy half their life creating them by the millions, but as usual and to their own demise, don't think twice about the all too often dire implications imposed on society.

⬆︎ These symbols are representative of illusions engraved in the minds of those who live in the preconditioned realm of fantasies based on religious faith, predominantly indoctrinated since birth through early childhood. No one in this World needs this kind of symbolism, nor its institutions, their evil authorities and fake salesmen. ⬇︎ This picture explains.

ISRAEL - This article* (below this intro) from Wikipedia is unedited but all reference links have been disabled in order to focus on the article without getting lost in 3-4,000 years of distorted history. This millenniums old saga continuing today with its arguments reaching epidemic pressure limit proportions lies at the epicenter of the wars and war arsenal industry. Who are the Jews, what is Judaism, who are the Zionists, these are questions this world in its present highly explosive state is trying to grapple with. It's war, it always has been war, we are programmed for war, programmed to be territorial, fight to protect what is regarded to be ours, invade to take what is not ours and create religions to justify our "rights" to own a piece of the world's real estate - and once taken possession of it, expand it until the World runs out of independent sovereignty and will be ruled by whichever contender comes out as the victorious warlord - what then? Well, the methods of non compliance with power obsessed rulers are well known, or at least, they should be. Happy slave labor, until the dwindling Earth resources cause it to tremble and spew its lava all over the deluge humans have created everywhere including in their disturbed minds, if not this, something else will end it - it's a matter of survival of the Planet, not the species.
*This article as below the line represents no bias towards any party on behalf of this web site's author.... photos on the right tell a thousand truths at a mere glance. Please think about the unbelievable circus this human race on the whole represents. Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a country in the Middle East, on the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Red Sea. It has land borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan on the east, the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively, and Egypt to the southwest. The country contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area. Israel's economy and technology center is Tel Aviv, while its seat of government and proclaimed capital is Jerusalem, although the state's sovereignty over Jerusalem is not recognized internationally.
The Kingdoms of Israel and Judah emerged during the Iron Age. The Neo-Assyrian Empire destroyed Israel around 720 BCE. Judah was later conquered by the Babylonian, Persian and Hellenistic empires and had existed as Jewish autonomous provinces. The successful Maccabean Revolt led to an independent Jewish kingdom in 110 BC, which came to an end in 63 BCE when the Hasmonean kingdom became a client state of the Roman Republic that subsequently installed the Herodian dynasty in 37 BC, and in 6 AD created the Roman province of Judea. Judea lasted as a Roman province until the failed Jewish revolts resulted in widespread destruction, expulsion of Jewish population and the renaming of the region from Iudaea to Syria Palaestina. Jewish presence in the region has persisted to a certain extent over the centuries. In the 7th century the Levant was taken from the Byzantine Empire by the Arabs and remained in Muslim control until the First Crusade of 1099, followed by the Ayyubid conquest of 1187. The Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt extended its control over the Levant in the 13th century until its defeat by the Ottoman Empire in 1517. During the 19th century, national awakening among Jews led to the establishment of the Zionist movement in the diaspora followed by waves of immigration to Ottoman and later British Palestine. In 1947, the United Nations adopted a Partition Plan for Palestine recommending the creation of independent Arab and Jewish states and an internationalized Jerusalem. The plan was accepted by the Jewish Agency for Palestine, and rejected by Arab leaders. The following year, the Jewish Agency declared the independence of the State of Israel, and the subsequent 1948 Arab–Israeli War saw Israel's establishment over most of the former Mandate territory, while the West Bank and Gaza were held by neighboring Arab states. Israel has since fought several wars with Arab countries, and it has since 1967 occupied territories including the West Bank, Golan Heights and the Gaza Strip (still considered occupied after 2005 disengagement). It extended its laws to the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem, but not the West Bank. Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories is the world's longest military occupation in modern times. Efforts to resolve the Israeli–Palestinian conflict have not resulted in peace. However, peace treaties between Israel and both Egypt and Jordan have been signed. In its Basic Laws, Israel defines itself as a Jewish and democratic state. Israel is a representative democracy with a parliamentary system, proportional representation and universal suffrage. The prime minister is head of government and the Knesset is the legislature. Israel is a developed country and an OECD member, with the 34th-largest economy in the world by nominal gross domestic product as of 2016. The country benefits from a highly skilled workforce and is among the most educated countries in the world with one of the highest percentages of its citizens holding a tertiary education degree. Israel has the highest standard of living in the Middle East and has one of the highest life expectancies in the world. |
